R1: Standard Bearing Pad  r1

 

General purpose stock drill contour for steel, stainless steel, inconel and aluminum. It offers minimum bearing contact with the workpiece (non-micable).

 


R2: Standard Bearing & Guide Pad  r2

 

Recommended for all non-ferrous and cast iron up to gundrill diameter of .200″ (non-micable).

 


R3: High Bearing Pad & Guide  r3

 

This pad is for good size control, including at exit. This special purpose contour is implemented where micable diameter and extra burnishing action is required, not for all materials (micable).


R4: High Bearing & Guide Pad  r4

 

This pad is to be used in aluminum and brass for best hole finish and for intersecting holes and interrupted cuts, or extra O.D. support and burnishing. Use with wood and plastic in combination with .0015/.002″ back taper. Do not use this pad in high nickel content materials do to high burnishing forces (micable).


R6: High Bearing & Guide Pad Reamer  r6

 

This pad is used for “chips ahead” reaming applications when opening up existing holes, e.g., valve guides (micable).

 


R9: High Interrupted Bearing Pad  r9

 

This pad is again used for “chips ahead” reaming applications when opening up existing holes, e.g., valve guides (micable).

 


R10: Two Flute Bearing Pad  r10

 

The R10 is used for high penetration rates in applications such as lubrication holes. Contour for aluminum shown (micable).
